Samito Matsinhe:

Born in Maputo (Mozambique), Samito was introduced to music at a young age. There, attended the National School of Music where he studied piano and percussion. Since the beginning of his career he had the opportunity to perform and/or record with musicians such as Sara Tavares, Arthur Maia, Lorraine Klassen Bakithi Khumalo, Tony Albino, Godessa, Stewart Sukuma, The New Grove Orchestra. He played in Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Mexico, Portugal, South Africa, Sweden and the United States. He settled in Montreal in 2005 where he is a keyboardist for the artists Hans Wilwright, Spaicy, Marie Saintonge, Sergiu Popa and the groups Kebeko and Ouanani. Samito holds a Bachelor of Music degree from McGill University and currently teaches piano at the Conservatoire Études Musicales de Boucherville. He also holds an attestation of college studies in sound and music recording and dedicates most of his time to the production and recording of emerging musical projects. Samito is currently involved in the recording of Spaicy, Jahnice, Shauit, Projeto Marambuco, O Zé and have recently collaborated in the recording of the show “Des mots sur mesures”, an initiative by the Maison de Culture Ahuntsic-Cartierville and the Secrétariat à la Politique Linguistique du Québec
